Grow Your Business with NAR
If you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow your real estate–related business, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® may want to partner up. NAR has formed a private equity fund, Second Century Ventures LLC, that invests in innovative businesses that support real estate transactions and provide a benefit to members of NAR.
The subsidiary will fund a range of companies with revenue from $2 million to $20 million that have market leadership and potential for growth and that are in line with NAR’s strategic goals. Among Second Century Venture’s first acquisitions was Seattle-based ePropertyData, which provides technology that will allow commercial property listings to appear on REALTOR.com and other sites.
Companies that receive funding from Second Century Ventures can benefit from the association’s resources, including the Center for REALTOR® Technology, which provides guidance on how to adapt products to the real estate industry, and NAR’s industry and marketing research.
Second Century Ventures is a for-profit subsidiary that’s run similar to a traditional venture capital company. Its leadership has vast experience in real estate and technology ventures and can advise start-ups on how to succeed.
