States Where Home Owners are Most Satisfied

Wisconsin, Georgia, and Idaho residents boast the highest levels of housing satisfaction, according to a new Gallup Poll. Between March and December 2015, Gallup interviewed at least 500 residents in each of the 50 states for its latest 50-State Poll.

The following states had the highest percentage of residents who said they were satisfied with the availability of affordable housing:

  • Wisconsin: 82% satisfied
  • Georgia: 80%
  • Idaho: 80%
  • Iowa: 79%
  • Nevada: 79%
  • Missouri: 79%
  • Indiana: 78%
  • Utah: 78%
  • Ohio: 78%
  • Texas: 78%

Meanwhile, according to the Gallup Poll, only one in four Hawaii residents say they are satisfied with the “availability of good affordable housing” in their state.

The following are the states with the most dissatisfied residents when it comes to housing stock affordability.

  • Hawaii: 25% satisfied
  • California: 50%
  • New York: 50%
  • Vermont: 50%
  • Alaska: 52%
  • New Jersey: 53%
  • Massachusetts: 56%
  • Maryland: 57%
  • Montana: 58%
  • Oregon: 58%
