Brokerage Shows Listing Activity With ‘Housing Dashboard’

The real estate brokerage Redfin has announced the launch of its Home Dashboard, an online tool for home sellers that provides them real-time data on how many people are viewing their property online, what their agent is doing to sell their home, and what the next steps are in the selling process. The dashboard includes important reminders of tasks that need to be completed.

“Selling your home isn’t exactly a walk in the park; it’s natural to feel anxious and overwhelmed by all the decisions you need to make and the tasks you need to complete to put your home on the market,” Redfin officials note on the company’s blog announcing the new tool. “But it doesn’t have to be that way.”

Redfin officials hope the new Home Dashboard answers many of sellers’ questions and keeps them more involved in the process. Here’s a snapshot of what the dashboard contains:

  • Real-time traffic updates and stats summary: It will show how many times people have viewed their listing on the Redfin website and how it compares with other listings. It will also reveal how many times web visitors had marked their listing as a favorite.
  • Next steps before hitting the market: The dashboard will provide a checklist of the next steps in preparing sellers’ home to be listed, which includes scheduling a professional photo shoot or doing a home walk-thru with their real estate agent. It will also show all completed steps as the sellers finish the tasks.
  • Highlights: The dashboard will include daily reminders about upcoming appointments and any notifications about new activity on the seller’s listing.
  • Similar homes and area updates: It will show homes that are similar to the sellers’ home for comparison while also showing any new listings, price drops, and sales near the sellers’ homes.
