RE/MAX Allows Buyers to Shop by Traffic

RE/MAX announced it has launched INTRIX Drive Time on more than 50,000 of its agent and real estate websites nationwide, allowing homebuyers to find homes based on their preferred commute times. The INTRIX Drive Time feature also provides home shoppers with a visual way to understand drive times in traffic between the listed property and their work address, schools, or other locations that they deem important to their daily lives.

"We believe INRIX Drive Time is a game changer for RE/MAX customers,” says Tim Droulliard, RE/MAX vice president of information technology. “With nearly 90 percent of Americans traveling to work by car, awareness of commute times is a critical part of the home buying process, which is the single largest financial decision most of us will ever make.”

Seventy-three percent of all home buyers consider commute times to work as a key factor in their home purchase, according to research by the National Association of REALTORS®. Indeed, 57 percent of Americans said they'd give up a big yard in order to have have a shorter commute to work, according to the 2013 National Community Preferences Survey, conducted by the NAR and American Strategies.
