Housing expert Jonathan P. Smoke will move into a new role as®’s first chief economist, Move Inc. announced Monday.

Smoke will lead a team of real estate analysts at Move, providing monthly housing reports as well as current analysis of housing trends.

How recent changes at Move are boosting its business.

"Jonathan is a highly respected housing economist and has proven himself as a leader and a strategic thinker in creating innovative data and analytics related to housing," says Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of REALTORS®. Previously, Smoke served six years in various roles at Hanley Wood, a real estate media company, including as chief economist, senior vice president, and executive director of market intelligence.
