Merged Calif. MLSs to Become Country’s Largest

The California Regional Multiple Listing Service Inc. recently announced a merger with Anaheim-based SoCalMLS, which will double the size of CRMLS and make it the nation’s largest. The merged MLS will boast 68,000 participants and subscribers.

The merge, which already has been OK’d by the boards of both MLSs, marks an effort to make CRMLS, which was formed last year, a statewide multiple listing service for California. CRMLS will now have 33 REALTOR® associations from across the state as part of its MLS network. The California Association of REALTORS® holds an ownership stake in CRMLS.

"We're continuing to talk [to MLSs and REALTOR® associations] up and down the state, and where it makes sense, we're going to forge relationships in those situations," CRMLS CEO Art Carter told Inman News.
