Coaching his Team to Greater Heights
What can studies in Beijing and Florence, Italy, mean for a real estate career? Michael Pennisi, 28, says those global experiences helped him develop an open mind—an asset for managing a brokerage in which you’re younger than most of the sales associates. Pennisi moved from sales into management because, while he was proud to list people’s homes, he had a passion for training. Among the classes he has taught: best practices in social media, video blogging, and using tablets for listing presentations. He credits those sessions with helping boost company sales by 43 percent over the past year.
Tip: "If you treat real estate like a career, then each client becomes a building block towards a larger goal. Inevitably, you will care more for the people you encounter and take greater pride in the work you do. Both this and very thick skin will lead to long term success in real estate."
