Pamela Wye
Her anthropology degree gives her a unique perspective on real estate sales. It’s never a dull moment, she says.
Working as a hedge fund analyst in New York, Wye received a request from her boss: Help us find new office space. Pursuing the perfect location made her realize that real estate—not finance—got her blood pumping. "It’s so worth pursuing your passion," she says. She returned to Capitol Hill, where her mother had been a general contractor for many years, and broke into the luxury condo market. Wye’s analytical background has come in handy for tracking the market and her budget. "My post-college experience made me a spreadsheet junkie," she says. Her advice: Be your own brand. "The best business decision I made was to work with a designer to create a brand for myself."
