The tool that sets Viehman-Wheeldon apart from her competitors is her data-driven market newsletter, The Hole Report. With her father, she coedits the semiannual newsletter, which she says positions her as the local expert. The report fills a real need because the state of Wyoming doesn’t require that property transfers be made public, so sales and prices can be difficult to track. Her company maintains a database that includes every transaction in Teton County. "That’s our biggest marketing tool. It’s not pushing properties," she says. Her advice: Take a look at what your local board is doing for you—you may be amazed—and get involved!
