Cubicle-dweller to Community Leader

Ashley Durham was working in marketing/public relations when she decided the "cubicle environment" wasn't for her. Within a few months of entering the real estate business, she was on her way to becoming the top listing and sales professional for Prestige. In her first year, 2007, she achieved over $11 million in sales volume with 43 transactions. Her killer contact list didn't hurt; a year earlier, she'd invited more than 800 people to her wedding.

New Working Mom

Durham was the inaugural president of the Women's Council of REALTORS® East Alabama Chapter in 2008 and has held leadership positions with a number of organizations, including the county Boys and Girls Club. Now, she's also a mom, but she doesn't intend to slow down. "I want to keep listing and selling," she says. "I want to be steady, educated, and known as the real estate professional who's there to take care of you."

Don’t Be a Stranger to Clients

"I spend one day a week calling every client," she says. "If I don't have any buyers or news, I tell them what's going in the market, what's the latest. If you're constantly communicating what you're doing, then your clients know you're working for them. They won't know you're working for them unless you tell them."
